The Essex County Masters Tournament Committee is pleased to announce the group pairings for the 2018 event.

Please be sure to arrive at Sutton Creek and be ready to golf 20 minutes prior to your tee time. All participants are welcomed to attend the Morning Cocktail Hour at the Grady Cabin from 8:30am to 9:30am on Saturday.

Championship Eligibility

The Masters Rules Committee is pleased to share the requirements to become a Masters Champion.

Men Masters Champion
Must have played the previous year
Lowest score, excluding all previous Masters Champions

Ladies Masters Champion
Must have played the previous year
Lowest score, excluding all previous Masters Champions
If there are no eligible ladies, the lowest score will win, with the exception of back-to-back former champions

Champion of Masters
Must have played the previous year
Lowest score of any previous Masters Champion, with the exception of back-to-back former champions

2018 Tournament, Tee Times & Morning Cocktail Hour

The Essex County Masters Social and Tee Time Committees are pleased to announce the following 2018 tournament details.

8:30 am – 9:30 am Morning Cocktail Hour at Grady Cabin. Please pay tournament fees to The Grady Cabin Commissioner, Mike Grady, during the Morning Cocktail Hour ($85 includes golf, cart, pizza, prizes, a special shot, awards, $kins and snik$).

9:30 am – All groups depart for Sutton Creek Golf Club

10 am – Tee times commence. Please be at the course and ready to golf 20 minutes prior to your tee time.

3:00 pm  to 4:00 pm – Snacks and Cocktails at The Grady Cabin and Arrival of Participants’ Guests

5:00 pm – Prize Announcements, Black Bob Award, and Crowning of the 2016 Essex County Masters Champion & Ladies Champion

5:30 pm – Pizza

6:00 pm – ? Cornhole, Hot tub, Pinball and fun!

Please BYOB for the After Party and the Traditional Awards Ceremony.

The Masters Rules Committee, The Masters Awards Committee, and The Grady Cabin Commissioners have been working hard all year to make this event the best yet, and would like to wish all entrants the best of luck for the 2018 tournament!

Please remember to have a responsible designated driver, call for a ride or plan on staying the night.

Group pairings will be announced four days before the event.

2018 Essex County Masters Champions Dinner

The Champions dinner will be held on Friday, April 27th 2018 at 6:30 pm.

The dress for this prestigious dinner is business casual.

Please note that only former Essex County Master winners are invited to this special night and failure to attend may result affect 2019 Essex County Masters tournament eligibility.

The tradition continues – Hello Friends!

Please make every effort to keep up with the group in front of you to maintain a good pace of play.

Men’s Rules

You are allowed to lift, clean and place tee to green.
Maximum score on any hole is 9. If you’ve just hit your 9th shot, please pick up your ball and mark your score as a 9. If you pick up the ball before holing out, please circle the 9 on your scorecard, as that hole will not be eligible to win a Snik

Closest to the pin – #5 (check for the  Men’s EC Master’s marker)
Longest drive – 12 (check for the Men’s marker – must be in the fairway)

Ladies Rules

You are allowed to lift, clean and place tee to green.

Ladies are allowed 2 club lengths of relief from any tree or impediment (not sand) without penalty.
Take a “gimme” for putts that are the length of the putter head to the beginning of the leather grip.

Longest drive – 12 (check for the Ladies marker, does not have to be in the fairway)

Please hand in your scorecard to a member of the Masters Rules Committee upon completion of play. Attendance at the EC Masters Awards Ceremony at Grady Cabin is mandatory –  thank you in advance for your compliance.

The tradition continues!

The Essex County Masters Rules Committee is pleased to release the details of the 2018 Essex County Masters Tournament!

Date: Saturday, April 28th, 2018

Location: We are pleased to again have this prestigious event return to where it all began – the gorgeous Sutton Creek Golf Club.

Tee times begin at 10am

Your playing partners and tee times will be announced a few days before the event. Please check back to this website.

The cost of this prestigious event is $85 and includes Morning Cocktail (at The Grady Cabin), entry into the $kins and snik$ game, 18 holes of golf with cart, a special grab bag, prizes for men and women, pizza, a special shooter and awards ceremony back at The Grady Cabin.

Other notes: Entrants are requested to make every effort to attend the Morning Cocktail Hour. It’s a great time to meet and size up the other competitors. Please pay the tournament fee to Essex County Masters Tournament Chairman Mike ‘The Iceman’ Grady prior to tee off.

Please do not bring alcoholic beverages onto Sutton Creek Golf Course. Alcohol will be available for purchase at 11am.

Reminder: As this is a Prestigious Event, and a Major Event within Essex County, failure to attend the 9am Morning Cocktail Hour and the Awards Ceremony may affect a participant’s eligibility for the 2019 Essex County Masters. Please BYOB for the After Party and the Traditional Awards Ceremony. 2017 Essex County Masters Champions

The soaking rains in the days leading up to the 2017 event forced us indoors. The various Masters Committees regrouped and brought the tournament to Silver Tee Golf & Virtual Gaming Centre in Oldcastle.

While many participants opted to drop out, a few courageous players battled it out on the Copperhead Course at Innisbrook.

We’d like to offer a hearty “Congratulations” to the newest champion to join the exclusive winner’s circle… Mark Boudreau, shooting an impressive 79.

This was Mark’s 8th year as a participant, and his victory was well earned!

Congratulations to repeat ladies champion Liz Grady who won the Ladies Essex County Masters trophy.

New this year… The “Champion of Masters”! This special award is given to the player who meets the following criteria:
Male or female
Lowest score overall
Played in the event last year
Former Essex County Masters Champion
The first “Champion of Masters” winner is… Mike Grady!
